alternator gauge hook up

    trying to wire my new original gauge cluster got water temp and oil pressure gauges installed need help on alternator one has 2terminal looking things on back of gauge can i run a wire fron both sides one to a hot ignition wire and ther other to a ground and it work:confused:

    1 of the wires from the guage to the battery or battery cable

    the other wire from the guage to the alternator power output. Any type of alt (with external or internal voltage regulator) will have a heavy large wire to supply power to the vehicle. often red colored. dont cut this wire, just add the wire from the guage where it can be added, closer to the alt is better.

    with both wires attached the alt guage will lean tword the + or - depending on if the battery or alt is supplying the most voltage.

    there are many other's here who know this stuff better than me and can explain it better.
