I need to run a very small alternator backwards in my little car and wanted to see who make the smallest on the market? Looking for a one wire.. Thanks for any help.

An alternator will work equally well in either direction but the fan won't. So you should get an alternator that turns the direction you want, or change the fan. Honda engines run "backwards" and so do some alternators in flat belt equipped cars. An auto electric shop should have a suitable fan, they usually have a box full of assorted fans and pulleys under the workbench.
Kubota tractors have a very small alternator that uses a V-belt pulley. if you've got a vehicle with a simple electrical system and few accessories, it should do the job. Haven't seen the ones on Clark forklifts. I have a friend who is a service tech for Clark--will have to ask him about them.
Check with a local rebuilder. They've seen more than I ever will, so if they don't know, nobody does. Cosmo
