Your workmanship is awesome. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to know how you went about gaining your skills.

As for a steel or aluminum 36 roadster? hell yeah!

Though I'd love to see another Hot Rod, I'd love to see a Custom-50 Merc. If you're looking to get some serious $$$ out of a full body project, you should be shopping your talents with the Pebble Beach crowd. How about a Deusenberg or Dellahaye? Maybe a metal bodied 57 Corvette. the sky is the limit.

Ive currently got my project a 32' sedan.

An all aluminum 36' roadster would be cool. I do have a lot of 36' parts here in the shop that I could take patterns off of. So that would make it a ton easier. Plus my buddy has a 36' roadster I could use for patterns as well.

I think it would be cool to do something exotic though. Tricky thing is to built something from scratch I need a full size model to take patterns off of.

I sold the car because mainly I needed money for my 32' sedan project. But I also wanted to see it progress. I knew that it would be a while down the road before I could get back on it.

Also where this was my first car. There are so many things I would like to do differently on it that would have made it go together so much faster. So for me its more exciting to thing about starting something else and applying what i have learned over the past 3 years to make it that much better.

True Coachwork Craftsmanship from a young gun! Man I've got to get up to Orem and shake hands before you're more famous and don't have time for us home builders anymore!

Anyone else see a Chip Foose type future for this kid? WOW!

Now that's some serious aspiration! I'd be thrilled to be 1/1000th as good on a good day! Hell, I'd be happy to be able to bondo something that would look 1/1000th as good as this!

Very inspirational. I cannot afford the tools I want to do this sort of work. I attended wyotech's sheetmetal fab course and got a real good taste of what I wanted to do. Now everything is in the way. This may sound stupid, But I think you just changed my path in life. I really mean it. I want to do this. I always have. Now I have some real inspiration to do so. I have seen other work by you on ere prior to this post. Your work/patience is amazing. Thank you.

Thanks you guys for all your compliments. I really enjoyed building that car. It definitely forced me to improve my skills very rapidly. Plus it is so rewarding to take a flat piece of metal and shape it into a car. Every day it came farther along then the day before.

Sure glad this post got revived again! I missed it and I'm in awe after reading through all the updates! Not sure I could have let something so nice go, but then I don't have the skills to even do a tiny part of what Salt Flats does!
Impressive work, regardless of age, but even more so for such a young guy!

I have missed this thread before. Great Job! Years ago I was in the Salt Lake area and ran into a guy who was doing sheet metal work out of his house in Jordan Utah.I think his name was Chris B. He had a 33 Willys coupe that he unchopped. He did a very good job doing this. He also did some other neat sheet metal work on his 33 Willys. He also was making 33 Willys coupes out of sedan bodys. Then I heard that he was teaching Shop at the University in Salt Lake. Could he be your teacher?? Again, great job on the Willys!!
