thanks steve, I didn't even think about cleaning the new alum before paint... I still have lots to learn! Built 4 brackets to put some of the stability back into the bedsides that I had sawzalled. Henry probably put those there for a reason. I'm enjoying the slip roller...
left bed rail trimmed and riveted to the Ford Bed. I'm pretty happy with the look and stability. First p*** on an *** end... I'm not feeling it... I think I need to continue the side panel angle into the rear bed corner instead of just stopping...
Is it the photo/camera angle, but it appears that the corner radius is greater than 90 degrees. The back panel is looking good, is the design matching your future tail light design?
Bed corner sloped similar to sides... Much better, but I'm still not convinced... I think the biggest issue is that I've become accustomed to looking at it with the square end of the side panel. I may mock up a square corner just for S&Gs.
Yeah, they were a late in the day quickie just to get an idea.., I really don't have a solid plan yet, just playing with some ideas.. that rear panel I made mostly as a practice piece and a possible tailgate...
Dang...If you can build all these cool mock ups, you can build anything! So where are the motorcycle ramps? Where is the fold out BBQ grill? Where is the reclining Barco lounger with full body m***age? LOL BTW - I really like the curved panel with louvers. Nice
I would suggest that you mock up the running board and filler panel under the bed. It might change how everything appears. Right now you are "seeing" an open darkness in that space. later it will appear solid and lighter in color.
I like your thinkin on the running boards.... Got the bed rails built beside the new louvered panels... Now I need to beg, borrow or steal a pan and box brake....
