Building this 32 roadster had the stretch the Lime Works 5 inch 32 Ford drop. Looks good polished but as expected the filler rod leaves 2 small discolored lines where the piece was added. Other than paint is there anything on the market to tint/color the drop so these tiny seams go away and retain the polished look?
have it sprayed with a high temp coating then clear coated? Cant think of anything else other than maybe a sleeve
The problem is common aluminum welding rod( such as ER4043) contain alloy's that enhance the welding properties but alters the color. Grind back the discolored area and reweld using ER1100 rod. It's harder to find but is almost pure aluminum and is the correct color. I have found it to be undetectable even when polished.
