I cant find it right now but I believe the Aug 1962 issue of Hot Rod has an article entitled " Roger Huntington builds a Hot Rod" He builds a T roadster with an aluminum chassis with a brand new crate dual quad Pontiac engine. Hopefully one of you guys can dig it out.

Weld the floor to the bottom of the frame rail. Make the seat riser part of the chassis…uni-body style!

It's funny Lump, I remember when that magazine came out, and I didn't read the article, because I didn't like the looks of the car, with the radiator in the back. Now, after all these years, and have built many cars, I appreciate the build and find it very fascinating !

That guy knew what he was dealing with, hence the bolted in cast aluminum corners and fittings.

May be 6" deep some places. Heat treated C channel with 2" wide flanges. No welding so as not to upset the heat treat. open sides. cast aluminum inserts with everything bolted. That was how the engineer built an aluminum frame. This is not what I'm seeing in these pictures.
    This frame is wall art.

I wouldn't trust that mitered and welded "Z". That thing needs a lot of reinforcing and gusseting to be stress-worthy.
An aluminum frame would also be a pain in the butt every time you needed to attach a tab or bracket to it unless you were okay with bolting or riveting steel stuff on there.

LOL. Build a show rod out of it with polished frame and tow it behind your sectioned Shoebox. Now that would be the cool setup.

Yeah, I totally have enough projects right now. This thing ended up in my yard fairly cheap. No plans for the moment.
