hell - winter is comin and so I spend all my free time on building that cars - but sometimes I'm thinking about how crazy someone has to be to -- own a roadster, building a 34 sedan and having a 39 plymouth sedan for future projekt and STILL thinking about other cars - no money - no time - no place - and still thinking [IMG] - I know!! ony one *** can drive one car - but really sometimes I think there's something wrong with me - so heres the question - do a boy or girl really need only one car?? - what do you think

Most of us here think/dream just like you do. We want them all. I would love a huge gagage full of every hot rod my little heart desires. ******* ones for warm sunny days and coupes for iffy weather.
Dreams are what keeps us going.
Money is what holds us back.

My thinking has always been "one to wrench on, one to drive." Since I'll never sell my Camaro it'll be my "driver" while I build my hot rod (although it needs a few more mods to be "right" yet) and then when the hot rod is driveable maybe I'll work on the Camaro. If the prewar car ever gets boring I'll start another and maybe sell the first one. Of course, I get attached to these things...

That's funny, I was just talking to a friend about the same thing yesterday. I've got all kinds of projects going on and even more running around in my head, and I can't even afford to finish my current ones. My dreams have definately gotten bigger than my wallet

  5. I think it's only natural for a greaser to want that next car. I've got an absolutely cherry 56 Vic. that's just reaching completion and all I can think about is building a chopped and channeled, cheater slicked, nailhead powered 27 T! I feel like it's a curse sometimes. Not being able to be happy w/ what you have.

Your lucky to have room for that many cars. I live in Seattle and have a rinky-dink 3/4 car garage that my 56 just squeezes in. I could probably s****e up the cash to start another project, but there's no way in hell I could ever afford a home w/ a two car garage in my neighborhood. 400k plus!

Piss on it. We all croak sooner or later. Own a bunch of cars & enjoy them if that's what makes you happy. Just don't put your hobby before the well-being of your family or your friendships and you'll be set.

  6. Yep. FatHack and i talked about it this morning. I know now what I have to do, build up what I have now, while am***ing parts for the "new" project. Funny, when I was working all the time, I had money for projects, but no time. Now we're down to 40's and have no money...

    But dreams keep us alive!

  7. I always have more than one project in my garage.

    #1 The 46

#2 All the hand-me-down, and/or cheap Taiwanese tools spinning, spraying, pumping and buzzing. I spend half my time fixing, or searching for parts to fix, broken tools. so far this year, my compressor, 2 die grinders, a sandblaster, my cherry picker, oh and don't get me started on chuck keys... no matter where I buy them, they snap, strip or plain don't fit.

MY KINGDOM FOR A CHUCK KEY!!!! [IMG]

#3 The super-secret next project. Of which I have parts ****tered all over the Midwest (LA and IA) and haven't got a clue how I'm going to continue to keep it super-secret.

    Rants over...
