Total ignore on that one, pegs the scam meter.

  2. Talk to him directly. Ask him where he is "working off shore" as in drilling rig or is he a merc. Listen to his accent, does he sound Nigerian?

Lastly have him pay the the shipper via Pay pal and have the shipper bring cash. Spend 5 bucks on one of those little bill checker pens.

Yea sounds a little off center to me as well.

Oh you call him not him call you. He can s**** a number on the phone when he calls you but he cannot give you a s****ed number to call and get him.

  3. You guy's are all wrong, I know this guy, his name is Ben......... Ben Dover.

Yes!! Its a scam. I post on CL all the time & I also say NO emails if your interested call me. That in its self helps filter out the scammers. Ive found that if you let them email you about 80% of them are B.S. So dont waste your time with these crooks. If you leave your # & someone calls you know its real & 99% of the time there within driving distance.
    Goodluck!

All you have to do is request a cashiers check,or money order as way of payment. If they send one,you can have it checked at a bank for being legitimate, they will let you know.I have done this a couple times, most of the time you will never hear from them again but have had a couple that sent a money order and went thur alright.that is one thing nice about ebay, paypal protection.

Russ, CL is a pain in the ***.

I got dozens n' dozens of emails like that whenever I post on there...

"I'm a merchant seaman who is at sea...."

The way ta' get around that is ta' only use a cell number for contact, but then ya' get calls from outfits that want ta' sell your stuff for you for a fee....

Gents...Its a scam. I get these all the time in CL ads. I even get text messages saying the same. I respond with " Cash Only" and I never hear from them on that ad.

    Scam

Exact same wording from some adds I had a year ago and mine were for some tools in one ad and a couch in a totally seperate ad.

    Same response for both ads.

So - I think you see the pattern of scam repsonse shared by many.

Looks like a most excellent mail to me that prides myself in the fact that it is indeed true.
