Awesome Kelvinator!!!!!!!!!!!! One of my first memories is of going to Fla wen I was 5 to visit my aunt and uncle. They had a beautiful '51 Statesman 4 door and my uncle had a '48 Nash 600 for a work car. I've loved Nashes ever since and one of these is on my "build" list someday. Jan
There is a very solid and buildable looking '50 Nash Statesman moredoor with a Nova rear end on the auction site. It's at $405 with no reserve. I have no interest financially in this car other than wishing that my money wasn't short... Jan
This is the **** right here! I've been thinking about buying a 4wd for the Missouri winters, and this would work. Dean
Ya gotta love anything with a 3 spd stick in the dash! That white Statesman is the coolest bathtub Nash I ever remember seeing. Most of the ones I've seen were 4drs with ungodly paint jobs. In the 60s...a pocket protector and taped horn rim gl***es were required attire when opperating a bathtub Nash. I put many a mile behind the wheel of my moms 60 American 4dr. I'd park down the street and walk to the Mighty Mo. There was a pretty looking "Vanilla Shake" white pro-street wagon with a BB Chevy around here for a while...if you like pro-street.
I actually like the idea of a 4 door bathtub nash. I want to build something for the ole lady that can haul around the kids (planning ahead as I don't have any kids now )
I have a 1950 nash rambler 2dr conv. for sale. Any one interested pm me. askin 2250.00. If you need some pix pm me please.
The one that looks like a 56 chev was at Spokane Goodguys, had a small block chebby in it, all the trim was painted on. It was one of my favorite cars there
Then I'm crazy too...been looking for one for quite awhile..I had a 46 Nash 600 coupe and have a 59 Metropolitan now, but that body style is the one..ya know AMC made a 403 V/8, shoehorn one of those in there....
All Nash/Rambler/AMC cars have been unit body since 1953 or so. ALL Ramblers are unit body. The 62 and earlier cars (up to 63 on the American) have unitized "frame" rails that run from bumper to bumper, making them one of the (if not THE) strongest unit body made. I've got photos of one with a SBC in it doing wheel stands. Stock front suspension and front ch***is, a little extra bracing. It does have an 8 point roll cage, and is back halved to support a narrowed rear axle. It's a street registered drag car, built mainly to drag though. My point is the car will easily support V-8 power with no ch***is mods, and the front end is plenty strong and easy to adapt disc brakes to. Anyone wants to know anything about Ramblers, just let me know! I've done a number of swaps into them myself. My website: http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html
There is a pretty cool Rambler wagon for sale around here. It was in a couple movies about JFK and Oswald. I think it was used as Maria Oswald's car. It is the more befinned example with 4 doors and chrome.
