I've got three real projects and two trucks that I am going to build to sell to pay for the real projects. that could be called being rather Ill. I think being sick is having more projects lined up and stashed back then you could possibly finish in the rest of your life and be looking for more all the time. A couple of years a buddy of mine finally woke up and figured out if he finished one of the projects he had set back in his back lot every six months he would be 90 before they were all done and sold several of them off. He still has enough to last him until he is 80 though.
I just explained this exact theory to my younger brother who is a huge soccer fan (allthough he still owns a relatively 'hot' but OT Integra Type-R ) He was not amused
Sick ??? Nope, it's a hobby. Do I have too many hobbies ??? Yep. 55 chevy, 59 GMC, recently aquired 23 T / Mercruiser project, my Dad's 66 Ranchero project, 2 harleys, and 2 vintage go karts for me and my son....then there's the other hobbies....RC cars, helicopters and planes, slotcars and trains.....no wonder I never get anything done.
I'll tell you what's sick. I have two cars - a 38 coupe I've been working on for 32 years and never driven. A 29 coupe project I have owned for 25 years and haven't touched. And here's the really sick part... this spring I bought a 51 pickup that will need tons of work before it's even road worthy!
I understand how you feel. I only have two old rides right now but I am always looking for more. My issue is all the other stuff. I like anything that is older than me or runs on gasoline. The two cars are enough to keep me busy but when I throw in a vintage travel trailer, tractors, a few Harleys, dirt bikes, and all the old stuff that need restored I end up with more work than time. I think it is time I admit my sickness and seek help....... OH, what's that? A 1947 JC Higgins bike? That would look cool fixed up. I wonder how much he wants? You get the point..
