One of the guys from SAR e-mailed me a link to a 1957 F-100 that they're building and the metalwork on the thing is amazing. The section job alone is worth clicking on the link and checking out all of the photos. Here is the link: http://www.stevesautorestorations.com/project4.html
Yep, another of those six-figure hot rods...too bad there's not any captions on the pics so's one can understand all the changes. R-
reminds me of the article in one of Tex Smith's HRMx's of the 3/4 scale '50ish Chevy PU. talk about slice and dice! Paul
60's i wonder if the one your talking about is the one that when asked why he did it the owner replied something like "well, i live in minnesota; the winters are long there and there just wasn't much on tv that year." i used to see it at the street rod nationals a lot.
Makes me wonder why anyone would sink so much money into that year of truck. All the money on the world ain't gonna make it look better. They're fugly to begin with. Too much money and too little imagination.
Thats preety kool, the work people put into those cars are amazing and they are very talented and deseve to get the 6 figures for the work they putinto them. Nate
Thats a nice truck. Steve's Rest. does killer stuff, theres no subs***ute for cubic money. Looked at a stock super nice 32 3 W body there last year. Said he'd sell body only 55K. I'll just keep dreamin.......OLDBEET
For the kind of $$$ being paid for that thing I hope they center the front wheels in the wheelwells!! Yes, I am being sarcastic. Nice work.

i like it. i'll have to check out the sight for more pics. SAR does about the best work you'll EVER see. i've never met Steve Frisbie but emailed him alot during the contruction of the "Newmad" and he ALWAYS emailed me back and encuraged me with my won projects. seems like a helluva guy to me.
Anybody notice the pic of the dash? I have a late model TA WS6 cluster that I have been kickin' around for my 50 Merc...wasn't sure what a late model cluster would look like in a old dash but this looks like it could work...
I will try and see if I get get some updated pics of the truck. I have a few friends that work at Steves and I know Steve also. The truck aint my style but it is really cool in person. I will see what I can do....Danny
[ QUOTE ] That dash looks like ****. [/ QUOTE ] We'll see what it looks like AFTER the surrounding metalwork is complete...
for all the **** talkers (here and everywhere), i'd sure like to see you do better. put your money where your mouth is and post what you've done.
The only thing I did not like was the color they picked in the rendering. I think it should go back to yellow.
I have been thru his shop with Steve giving me a tour and it was impressive. Then about a year later I tried buying a set of E&J lens from him so he "Quotes" me a price so I e-mail him back for his address so I can send him a check. He mails me back a week later and says sorry but they are gone, then a day later I see the same lens on e-bay for WAY MORE... **** I gotta have it so I swallow hard and buy it now and send him my money along with a note about "remember me from a week ago and thanks alot". Well guess what I never got the lens! He tells me that he shipped it and by this time hes a real *** hole! Long story short I finaly got my money back and No lens! From this time on I wouldn't buy a damned thing from the ***hole. If anybody has a littleman at***ude its him.

Think outta the box...they're boxy from the factory, but it takes some imagination to see it, imagine it "thin", then have it built. Anyone can go the easy route and get a 60's era ride which is already "streamlined" like I did.
Thanks for the post, I enjoyed it. I believe you featured the post to focus on the quality of the metalwork being done, not whether it's traditional or not, or whether people like the bodystyle or not. Thanks for taking the time to post it, there's a lot of us that appreciate a detailed post with pics.
I kinda have a soft spot for these trucks (mu dad had a yellow '57 when I was a kid) and I have the one that used to belong to 38chevy454 and Killer. In fact I am going to be down by CharleiLed's house working on it all week... Wish me luck!
Well I love that truck!! Many may not for one reason or anouther BUT you have to give it to the builders.Awsome metal work....I will admit I cant do that
