The two 4 barrel 's ruin the engine for me, the roll bar slanted in the oppisite direction of the windshield throws it off for me. Too over the top

    my 2 cents

Aside from the fact that a Boyd car hasn't won in a number of years, that's still a pretty F'd up think to say.

Amazing looking Hot Rod! Like 3wLarry said, you gotta appreciate the time and money spent. A little too flashy for my taste, though certainely a great "trad race themed" Show Rod. Good luck Hot Rod Garage.

The Smiths and the crew at Hot Rod Garage built this wild 60s Show/Drag
Hot Rod that is just a work of art. They are known for their subtle & detail
Hot Rod builds and I enjoyed watching them create this one.

Pictures are kool but the guys that get to see it in person will be in for a treat.

    Good luck guys!!!

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

The car is awsome and I like it - motor is over the top. But I've been going to HAMB school for over a year now and I thought I was starting to "get it" (was raised on billet). But then a thread like this comes around and all the old school HAMBERs are givin it props praising it as a HAMB award contender. Now i'm confused again.

Ya know, I really like this car - if it were mine, of course there are a couple things I'd change. That really doesn't matter.

Without you, or I, going into details, I completely understand why you are confused again.
This car is a great mix of an old style with some new parts and technology mixed in.

    ....call it 'Traditionally Styled'?

hmmm....totally my style of car in the sense of the 60's race theme. But, for some reason this car doesn't do a thing for me....I do look forward to seeing it in person at the GNRS though. Looks to be very detailed.

  25. Oh man, the excitement is really building now! I'm SO glad we're going this year!! I'd heard about this car from Jim a while back but didn't think I'd get to see (or hear:)) it.

    Leaving in four days!!!

    Misfit,
You have to understand that what Jim and Jason (owners of The Hot Rod Garage) are know for is traditional style cars..fantastic workmanship and all is a given....this is an over the top build for a customer.

    Don't be confused!

    Zzzactly!
Jim and Jason and the rest of those Okies build very subtle, tasteful cars. This one IS a bit of a stretch for them, but if a car can be "over the top" and "****oned down" at the same time...this is it!

Hey Kats and Kitties, I was just over at Hot Rod Garage delivering the last of the show signs I was making for them, and I managed to snag a few ultra top secret shots of the interior for you viewing pleasure. Don't tell anybody where you got em from though, ok? ;)
