Short notice, but Friday night, Nov 2nd at the Joslyn Art Museum, Bruce Crawford presents the 40th Anniversary of American Graffiti. 7 pm, general admission seating. Doors open at 6. Tickets at Omaha HyVee locations, or at the door, benefitting Nebraska Kidney ***ociation. Yeah, we all have it on video, DVD, etc... and probably hang with it when we find it channel surfing. But it's kinda fun to watch it in a theater setting. KKOA showed it in the restored Stiefel Theatre in Salina back in July. A blast with a bunch of other car guys. Any one remember how Back to the 50's got started in Minnesota? When the film was originally released, a group of car guys arranged to be cruisin' in front of the theater when the movie got out. Anybody wanna recreate that out on Dodge Street? Or in the parking lot of the Joslyn? Weatherman says its not going to rain or snow this Friday. Movie should be over just before 9pm. To quote Bob Falfa "Hey hey hey, Whadyasay?" And if you want to finish that scene, Cindy Williams will be there in person to give you a glare and deliver this ... "Don't say anything and we'll get along just fine".
I feel even closer to that movie than I used to now that I have a yellow '32. Although mine is a roadster since I don't need no stinkin' windows.
