It was also a hartop, with a piece of wood in place of the B pillar. I believe it was also an automatic, with a steel front clip.

Those are some of my favorite quotes from both movies...and we've had two different answers on the "regulation height", and I can't remember which it was, 12 or 12 and a half inches...oh well, either one is close enough...the opening song to MAG is Booker T and the MG's "Green Onions"...

The '55 that did the roll over stunt was a specially prepared two door post car. The '55 that actually explodes was a two door hard top with fake wooden posts added to it that they pushed over on its roof.

Also note that the deck lid on the roll over car popped open during the stunt, but the deck lid on the exploding car was closed. Oops!

  13. There was a story going around at LA roadster show a couple of years ago that Brian Setzer from the stray cats had it???? but then again...the rumor mill seems to always be runnin on the AG cars...any body in the Bay Area know how to contact Rick Figuari....since he owns both the other cars...maybe he would know

Actually the 55 he owns is a clone that was built for him by Richard Ruth, the man that built both of the 2-lane Blacktop 55 Chevys.

  15. Rick said that yes he bought it from from Ruth, however ricks car was built as the back up car for blacktop/Ag...It sat behind ruths shop for years before rick talked ruth into finishing the car for him....as the one in the movie got turned into a eastcoast custom of sorts with stock quaters put back on it and the axle removed......so according to Ruth & Rick his is the last of the real ag cars left...it just was never on screen......

Was bought in 1999, never on screen, or in a movie sounds like a clone to me, at least it was partially built by the man (Richard Ruth) who knew the most about the cars. Below are the Ebay pages from the auction he bought it on.

  17. In the movie biz they may build sevral back up cars in case some thing happens to the "star" car...some times its saved for inside shots or stunts...like roll over at the end.....so they more than likely would have had to have a back up...it cost way to much to have production down while ya build another star car....a clone would be buying a pos down the street at a later date and kinda makin' a AG car............this was for studio use in both movies just not needed...besides I hauled the ag coupe and 55 of ricks to car shows allover the west coast sevral years ago....and I got this from Rick him self...if it was a "clone" he couldnt call it or book it as an ag car.........like I said they just never needed it on screen.........

  18. The Swe-dish Babe was a Playboy Plamate. I think a Playmate of the year.

  28. Looks like a39 or 40 Ford to me. I know that 39 Chevy is in there somewhere too.

  29. It's the 40 Ford that Barris built for Tom Hocker. This is about it's 3rd or 4th version.
