    Hey all-

I'm currently replacing my ammeter in my 64 Dodge with a voltmeter for obvious reasons. Simply put, how do I byp*** the ammeter completely? I've searched around and found a lot of discussions and arguments; I just want to get rid of the ammeter!

    How?

Simplest way is to connect the wires from both sides of the ammmeter together - solder and shrink tube to make sure they stay connected. All of the usable power for the car go through there so make it secure.

Yup, you connect the wires together securely, usually on the Mopars from the 60s-70s you can just remove one wire from it's terminal and attach it to the other terminal, on top of the other wire.

This only works with old fashioned full current ammeters. There are some other types (such as used in GMs in the 60s) that don't work this way, so be carefull.
