How much epoxy, 2k primer, polyester primer as well as top coat paint and clear would I need for an over all paint job do you think I will need for a 29 coupe? I'm sure I'll use a BC/CC system as far as pain goes, probably Martin Senior since that's what my local auto parts store carries.

I'm using single stage on a Model A coupe and figure 5 to 6 quarts of paint, by the time you add hardener and thinner that will come to about 9 quarts total. I'm painting the bottom and inside of the body, fenders, splash aprons, basically all surfaces. Number of coats, type of gun and even color will effect the amount of paint required. Primers are a different story, I use urethane and by the time I guide coat several times the usage goes up. Way too many variables to give a good estimate of materials.

1 gallon of base, 1 gallon of reducer for the base. 1 gallon of clear, and it’s hardener, reducer. 1 gallon of fill primer, 2 quarts of epoxy. Are you using the epoxy as a direct to metal primer, or are you using it as a sealer? If you are using it for both add another quart. This is a rough plan, as all cars are different and the amount of primer is determined by how many times you block the car. Some base coats require more because of coverage issues. This should leave you with about a quart of base left over for touch ups if you can get coverage in 3 coats. All of this is assuming the car is fenderless, with a hood and sides.
