Technical Amp gauge vs Volt gauge with generator

  1. Keep in mind that you're not going to get an 'accurate' voltage reading with either type of meter because of all the variables involved. How many poles on the armature? How fast are you turning it? Either type (****og or digital) will give results close enough for us given a 'standard' calibration. To get 'accurate' readings, you'd need an oscilloscope so you can examine the waveform and the information imparted will be useless for us.

    That's why most test procedures require a certain load and engine speed; to help reduce those variables.
