There are bigger I have 3/4 and 1" drive ratchets and sockets. (and impact wrenches) The coal mine I worked at had a 1" 1/2 impact it was old and big, heavy too. Hauled it on a cart from the tool room and had to use the overhead hoist to pick it up, took two guys to run it, one to hold it on the bolt and one to run the air and hoist. Almost like how many pollacks does it take to change a light bulb?

Being a Navy vet and a aircraft reciprocating engine mechanic (propeller lol), we called crescent wrenches Marine Corps socket sets.

After you totally strip it out then you can go to next size up bolt and kind of cross thread it in problem solved. I’ve seen that accomplished in a few languages

What little growing up I did was in Texas where crescents were called Okie socket sets, but we all used them.

I worked in an ammonia plant we had IIRC a 3 - 1/2 “ Ingersoll Rand impact driver 25000 ft lb torque rating we always chained that bad boy down

In the Midwest we had Farmers socket sets either ViseGrips or Channel Locks, however really rich farmers had both sometimes in a fancy leather holster.

Thats bigger and better more power, now they use hydraulic powered rad guns all you need to do is set the torque make sure the socket is square on the bolt/nut hit the switch and dont let your fingers get between the reaction bar and the anchor.

Yep played with those also, but the coolest device for torquing nuts is a hydraulic unit. Has a cage that goes over the stud that holds the Ram, the nut is run down fingers tight then another special nut attaches to the stud and the ram. Each stud has a predetermined hydraulic pressure for a given stud. Pump the Ram up to the predetermined value tighten nut finger tight release the pressure Bingo Bago perfect rod stretch (torque)

I am always afraid someone will steal my pickup and it will kill them before they learn it's tricks. It is the wrongful death law suit that scares me.

Just put a sign on the dash that says “operate at your own risk” make sure you put it in Spanish also to cover the south of the border crowd. You can make up stickers like they have all over heavy equipment.

    Are you guys actually serious?
Can a lawyer on behalf of a thief actually sue the car's owner?
I hope not, because whenever some crazy idea comes along in the US, and then is shown to be awful, we adopt it up here a few years later.

You can be sued for anything, not saying you're going to win or lose but by the time the lawyers are done they'll have made money and everyone else will get screwed.

I wonder how many hot rods get stollen every year? Is what sucks is even if you have insurance for such an event, you loose your baby, how do you put a $ amount on your blood, sweat and tears ,your pride and joy? A daily driver later model gets stollen and you have insurance no biggy at least for me. I have one that if someone stole it they’d probably bring back after a day or two,
probably sue me for endangering their life driving a pos ha ha

I’ve heard of a thief, suing a property owner for getting hurt after he broke in the building, he fell through a ceiling.
Same thing a property owner got sued for having 110/220 hooked up to his window grates. I found it shocking.:)
