Over 50 years ago in the East Bay NoCal My grand parents came home to find a burgler on their home. My grandad chased him out he back door where he fell in the back yard and fractured his wrist. While jumping the fence into the next door neighbors yard he cut his leg on a protruding nail in the fence. Going through that yard he alerted a dog in the next yard and was bitten several times before ge††ing over another fence. He sued my grandad and both neighbors. He won a several thousand dollar set†cement! It was later overturned bit still cost a couple of thousand in legal fees. His advice was to keep a clean throw away to plant on their dead *** and never let them out of the house.

I live out where the the Hoot Owls do unspeakable things to the chickens, long story short we don’t call 911, on a good day they’ll be to my place in 30 or 40 minutes, about the worst thing that happens is occasionally I’ll have to pull someone out of the ditch, once in a while I’ll have to chase mushroom hunters off the property or give the drunk tractor driver a ride home.

Same here on this end of the state.
My wife asks why I leave the keys in the ignition a lot of times. I tell her “I might lose them!” Never did that when I lived in Racine or Kenosha.

Rural theft & burglary here are on the rise. (too close to California) Most people who wander onto our place are just stupid and have bought into what their realtor told them that they can go "wheelin'" anywhere in Nevada. But many who are over a mile past the NO TRESP***ING signs have no respect and bad intensions. The last time I called the Sheriff for a burglary it took 2 weeks for them to get here. I had already figured it out and retrieved my stolen property. No thieves were seriously injured in the recovery effort, but I'm too old to use those methods now. :)

That is true, my daily 4x4 sits just high enough to be annoying climbing in and out of.

My brother-in-law did a tune up on his little Dodge D50 truck. He drove it about 100 miles and came to the house thinking the engine was shot. It ran terrible and had no power. I opened the hood and had him start it. I watched as all 4 spark plugs wiggled around to the beat of the engine. I told him the plug were lose, but he swore he tightened them. I think there was some liquor involved. Tightened them and it ran like a fine watch.

One of the tube tires that I got in the 70s began leaking where the metal part of the tubes valve stem is glued(?) to the rubber part. A tiny clamp like a radiator hose clamp stopped that. That tire and tube is on a chrome reverse rim with vent slots. All the chrome is long gone except for specks but I treasure that rim

Climate scientist study the air in old jars & jugs and compare it to the air today. I wonder if they do the same with the air in old tires? Maybe if the know when it was put in there.

No need. Just mix 30cc of vodka with 90cc of orange juice.

Long before I became acquainted with the Metric System, the mix was one pint of Smirnoff vodka to a one quart can of Donald Duck Orange Juice. Preferably over ice, but it would get you just as drunk at room temperature. ;)

Crikey, I don't think I've had a 'screwdriver' since we used to go to the clubs (17 year old) and I'm now 67. Alot of Southern Comfort has p***ed under the bridge and gone through the bloodstream since then.

I think the magnet on the junkyard crane lost power when they were swinging it to the container next to the car and dropped it, thats where it landed unintentionally. The guy leaning on the car owns it and is trying to figure out what to do next. In other words oh **** why did I park here and how the hell am I gonna get home? But Im glad I got out of the car when I did.

So for me not so funny  but go ahead, chuckle. Or maybe use this caution.
Workin' at a fill'in' job around 1990 We got the new style Coates Tire Machine.
To dismount you stand the tire next to the unit and the pedal breaks the bead by moving a large jaw in /past the rim edge.
Y'all know what I'm talkin' bout.
But get the picture of me leaning over this action; as the air comes gushing out.
My street ( alley? ) smarts tells me somebody peed in this thing long long time ago.
For the next 3 days I was remanded to bed UGH.
    No emoji for this
