At 80 years old each, my wife and I are celebrating 30 married years today..All time "BEST" for both of us...
Today's pretty much like most days, in the mornings, she still goes to the Gym, and I go to the John.

When I was in HS a friend would on occasion get his car going 35 - 40 mph then turn ignition off pump accelerator a couple times turn key back to run BANG one day he pretty much blew the entire exhaust system , he quit after that, probably lucky that’s all that happened.

I had a beater ford I would do that with, usually when I saw someone close on the sidewalk. scared the shit out of a lot of them. You had to judge how long you had the key off,to long and to much gas and disaster in the makins,

 

I did that once on my dad's station wagon. I told him I didn't know how it happened, it just did. I always wondered if he believed me...

 

My son had a friend here that told the funniest story I have ever heard on this subject, I is long and has to have his facial expressions to make it work. The explosion not only took out the exhaust system but also bent the floorboards and left him deaf for quite a while. He did it right next to a cop. I wish I had recorded it.

My wife & I celebrated our 55th Friday. I'm a year younger than you. I guess it is worth waiting a while before you jump into something like this.We dated for 5 years. Old school dating.

I got my first ticket drag racing my new 61 Monza against a 54 V-8 Ford Victoria. I insisted to the cop that I was winning (good call, huh?). Much later that night I ran into the Ford guy at a Denny's. He demanded that I raise the hood and prove that it was stock. He saw two carburetors and said "See, it is!".

 

I worked on a 400 ton cat haul truck that looked just like that.

 

Noted quality pre "bolt-on" era!
