    Ryan,

Awesome Film... I have a 31 Ford 5 Window Coupe originally bought from George Sutton Ford in Inglewood.Ca.

See pic of, I believe a replica, of a Gilmore racer with Sutton Ford inglewood as sponsor.

Fantastic! See the mechanics leaning out of the car to counter on the turns.

Great video. I watch old movies on TV just to get a siite on these old cars. Makes you think you were born i a wrong era. Women were women and men were men. You can't say that these days cause you have no clue as to what your talking to sitting next to you or who your going to piss off. Thanks for the entertainment.

Yes: Mines Field, it was a Gilmore sponsored race. There are photos of the cars in a hangar on the LA Public library archive. The track was just east of Sepulveda on the approach, so about half of the land is still open.

The '32 shown is I believe an original. It was at the Antique Nats this year, not running too well. There's a lot of patina of age on it if it's not.

The Stadium was a smaller venue. When the track was closed, the grandstands were sent to Bonelli Stadium in Saugus, now known as Saugus Speedway. The Speedway was closed to racing due to 'the grandstands being too dangerous'. Regardless, they are still up. It really gives the flavor of the old speedways. I remember sitting in them watching the WRA running their old cars out there. That was the best.

The next time one of my Street Machine buddies tells me that tube axles and springs couldn't take abuse, I'm showing them this video.

    Thanks, Ryan.
