i think its funny that some people will chime in on how much they can part this out for and make a fortune... the fact is this seller hasn't done that in 45 years, probably can't do that and most likely will never do that... they aren't even inclined to pull it out of its grave and "dust" it off... they think its worth so much, yet they just let it rot away... you were doing them a favor to offer to pay them $250 to remove it...

I guess I'm just a ****er for rotting tin. I am going to pick up a 61 Olds long roof in a couple of weeks. At least this one is free.

We have a saying here in the south, "If you love NY, take I-95 north", If it's rusty here it's really got a problem, I say it won't go on a trailer without breaking in two or more pieces.

Your offer is very fair. Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's valuable.

As one who considers dragging home any Stude, I can say that $250 is realistic on this car. First off, fully restored, this car would be hard to sell since most are lusting after muscle-cars that have disposable income these days. The guys playing with these (I know a few) are mostly over 70 now, and not starting new projects. Stude guys, as a group, are, as has been said, very careful with their money, and never throw anything out. If you were to build some sort of rod out of it, you'd better plan on keeping it forever, as non-ford rods of this vintage will never garner near the price of a Ford, whether you like it or not. Studes are indeed increasing in popularity, but that is largely, I think, because of a few engineering things and some sensational styling moves made from about 35' onward. If they dig it out and load it up, maybe $400 tops. If you bring this to a STUDE swap, there will be maybe 2 people who have any clue what they are looking at, as most are playing with Larks, Bourke Coupes and Avantis.

    Hiya Calvin,
I hope you are doing well. Still kicking around Fayettenam. Yea, I'm still surrounded by rust but that's ok. It keeps me from chasing skirts. I hope to be visiting the deeper south a visiting a couple of mutual friends in a couple of weeks.

    Great hearing from you,

    Love you guys,
    Jamie

Yes we know each other. We've been to Bonneville twice that I can remember. Here's a clue, Clem lives west of Nashbilly, Sonny lives way south of Nashbilly and I live 17 miles south.Who am I? Good luck with that old Studebaker.

Since she did say make an offer, I think $250 is a good starting point. Obviously, she must have a number in her head. All she has to do is counter-offer, then go from there. It's always kind of comical when someone has something rotting away in the earth, and they still think it's worth a big pile-o-money. My .02¢ worth anyways...

  15. no ***le or any other paper work rotted/rusted beyond knowledge(from sitting in a field buried to the axles) collapsing in on itself

id would of told her to give me the 250.00 to dig it up out of her yard

    but thats me
