First let me say that I don't believe that it is necessary for Bob to do an intro on this board. Anyone that has not heard of Bob Drake has been living under a rock. I have been buying from Bob since the days when he was making gloveboxes and selling them at the V-8 club swapmeet in South Gate. Bob makes quality products, has outstanding customer service and is a real pleasure to talk to. It doesn't sureprise me that he handled this situation with CLASS!

Well done Mr. Drake! It's very easy for folks to spout off and write things on here that can't be verified and shouldn't be posted. I'm impressed with the care you took in posting this reply.

    Keep up the good work.

    Mr Drake,
I've never purchased parts from you, and dont know you from Adam...
At first I was going to flame you for bringing a private issue to a public forum, but after reading the other posts here, as well as admiring you for your restraint, I'm reconsidering.
Tho I still feel an issue such as this should be handled in a private manner, I must admit your open letter is extremely well written.
If these guys stand behind you and your product, then I will too.
Welcome to the HAMB. Now, go do an intro, and join in a discussion to "share the knowledge" :D

I've posted my thoughts about Bob Drake Reproductions on here before.I can't think of a single company who has done as much for this hobby/industry.Over the last twenty years,I have used a LOT of their parts on many different vehicles.Always happy with the quality and the way I was treated.
As far as an intro, hell yes Bob should do one. It's the rules and same applies to all of us.It's not about whether or not we know who he is.
I agree,it would be GREAT to get them as an alliance member!

Bob's a standup guy that sells quality parts, I've bought many over the years, & he is always making new products for our hobby. Like said before if you don't know who Bob Drake is you don't build old Fords. Welcome to the HAMB Bob.

    p.s. tell Wes hello...........

  14. Bloody hell, I didn't know the HAMB was so full of Kiss Asses!!

    Bob,
I'm not one who knows you. I have heard of you, but fortunatly for me I'm a chevy guy so that would be the main reason for me to not know who you are. Hey, somebody has to keep them ol fords alive and by the sounds of it you are doing your best to do so. I at first was not impressed with reading your first post on the HAMB being such as it was, but after reading the replies I'm willing to overlook that...but as far as an intro goes, you should follow the rules and do one. I'd like to read a little about yourself and your view from the supply side of this great hobby/obsession we all share. I'm sure there will be those like wbrw32 who will say you need no intro, but like I said earlier, I have no idea who you are other than some ford part guy...so I'll leave it up to you. Welcome to the HAMB, sit back, relax, enjoy, and please share with us your knowledge.

EDIT* I'll overlook the intro issues if you do decide to become an Alliance Vendor...hey the ford guys need all the help they can get!!!! CHEERS.

  18. I bought waterpumps from Bob Drake.... good product, best price.

I've bought parts from Drake, great stuff. But why does a superstar get a pass? If Mr. Drake can put his "view" here, then be like us, or will he never post again like alot of FNG's?

Sounds like Mr. Cox is jealous of Bob Drake's incredible respect and success and likes to belittle himself by taking message board cheap shots at him.

    Hi Bob,

Hey I've never heard much (and couldn't find any info,) about Roy Jones that did all the great art for you over the years, maybe you could do a post about him and share some of his art with us? Seems weird that such an accomplished artist would be so under the radar, at least to me, maybe I haven't looked in the right places! I'd like to know what his story is...

    Cheers,
    Keith Weesner

I'm quite satisfied with the grille on my '34. Would be nice to have Mr. Drake as an Alliance vendor.

  26. What's the big deal with the intro police today,,I would venture to say there are a few hundred guys a month posting without a intro and you guys haven't painted a target on any of their backs! HRP

    Bob,

Very nice, professional response. I have to give you and other guys who are involved in the old car parts business a thumbs-up. If not for you and yours, thousands of potential restorations and hot rods would never see the light of day. I understand the commitment and hard work of tooling up for the kind of products you create. A huge undertaking to say the least. Keep up the good work. Some people forget was life was like before they could open a catalog and order nearly everything they need to get their project going. You've made this hobby much easier, and I'd say more fun.

Bob Drake. Best in everything from the beginning to the present. Repro parts that equal or surpass the quality of the originals. Great business ethics, personable. If you have a question he will answer it, I've never seen him give an evasive reply. A gentleman I have and will continue to do business with.

And then there's Lawson Cox. I've endured that guy for 15+ years on the Ford Barn...
I'm surprised he hasn't found his way to this forum. LOL

Nothing but "Class" shown here, my hat's off to Mr Bob Drake.

  30. Hell, some of you guys would want Henry Ford to do an intro...
