I have noticed that black liquid coming out the exhaust, more on some cars than others when cold.. My sbf would drip a descent stream and make puddles, strange is it doesn't do that anymore.. Would leaded gas make more moisture than non-leaded? What about carbon build up? I have one engine that the piston tops pretty clean but the comsution chambers/valves are as nasty as one could think..

Bit late to this party. I call BS on these fancy, scientific explanations. That black stuff is special, magic liquid that helps show you where your exhaust leaks are. Exhaust leak tracing liquid, find it in the isle next to Blinker Fluid.

My AV8 does it; my Jaguar does it; my Honda does it; I do it... Just the time of year. Don't be embarrassed. Just wipe yourself and go on with life.

The roadster does the same thing. It has turn downs on the exhaust, so it marks it's spot. The wife is ecstatic.

I considered joining the military but was afraid I would get a discharge.

As air is compressed it creates heat , the burning of fuel is as Squirrel explained . Even if you did nothing but compress the air in your engine , it would create heat and when exiting in to a cooler place it will condense and create moisture . Ever drain the tank on your compressor ? This water is from the heat of compression escaping .
