Here are some progress pics of the roof on a 63 Impala that I just flaked and shot kandies at. This car may be a bit too lowrider for this board, so if it is feel free to delete this post.

Here's the car when I started...

And now the roof is in silver metallic....

And then I shot silver metalflakes at it....

Then buried the flakes in clear...

    Wetsanded down and recleared...

Wetsanded again and started to tape...

    A little more taping...

Starting to lay some kandy down...

    More kandies...

And finally all the color is on...

After the first round of clear...

Now I just have to wetsand it out and reclear it today. I'll post more pics when it's all finished and polished out.

Great work man, keep it up. How long did it take to lay all of the fine line on the roof before you started to add color?

Thanks guys. I'm not really sure how many hours I have in it, or how long it took to tape. I think I have around 50hrs in it so far and around 7-8 hrs to tape it up.

  12. Looks good ..........What brand of paint did you use?

Jerry, Love that paint job ! Really like the splashes of color - freak drops I think they were called. Over all real nice job.

  15. You got more time in that roof than I have in painting my entire car!

    Great work.

Man that's awesome JR. The tape work alone is a work of art. I think it wold be easy to get confused and put the wrong color in the wrong place.

    Freaking great job.

gonna be bad ass Todd :)

  24. Wow Todd. I knew it was your car in the first picture. That roof takes that car from a cool Impala to a bad ass ride. Bet you're stoked.

Damn good job.I've sprayed some flake and a a good bit of candy and anybody that hasn't done it has no idea of the amount of work involved.Just taping and masking takes a lot of time. You really nailed it though.Looks great.
