Man! Looks freakin' amazing. Makes the eyes go buggy looking at all that tape! Don't know how you keep all the colors separate in your head, let alone when your shootin' the kandies! My hat's off to you! Beautiful work.

Add me to that list Zman.

So, in an attempt to get a better understanding. I have these questions. Using the photos quoted below, I assume there was a lot of masking that went on top of the masked-design? Also, did you work from the center out? I'd assume that'd be the way to do it unless there are area chosen to use th same colors.

This is an amazing job. There are so many details to this. You're VERY talented. Thanks for sharing. I'd love to see some pics of the in-between steps, if you've got them.

My god what a beautiful job. Just the work you had to do with the taping is jaw dropping. Can't wait to see it with some sun on it. Fantastic work.

The nice thing about this top is that every color is a diffrent shade of blue plus some purple to tie it all. It makes it very clean compared to the multi colored tops of the same style.

Hey Todd, any shot of the whole car?

    that is absolutely insane!!

i gotta ask, do you hang down from the rafters to paint that? or do you just do it on the ground leaning over the car?

here are a couple pics of the car before, and one of the pesco setup... im really goin for a late 70s style build... redone trus, sancos, color bar, archers, etc... this top is the icing on the cake for sure.. and really has me motivated to finish up the car...

sorry to intrude jayme.. this weekend i will get pics and video of it in the sun {if its sunny LOL} .. this roof is gonna FREAK me out in person, itll blind me i think!

    Fricken killer...

Now the question of curiosity...What would one have to pay, on average, for that roof to have done w/labor? With flake/candy or with reg paint/60s gasser style?

Thanks for sharing. I want to do a nice white flake roof on my Caddy. Too bad you aren't closer to Colorado. I've had House of Kolor recommended as the only flake to use, and I can see why when I see work like this. I'd love to see that car in the sun!

go white ice pearl on that caddy... looks NICE.... sparkles better from what ive seen on all white cars.. the flake catches the light more for some reason .. micro flakes i think is why ... the car i saw last with white ice pearl looked like a snowy field in the sun just sparkly very pretty

Thanks! I will definitely look for that color. I want to go with a crimson red and the white flake roof. Not sure if I should go for a suede or a pearl for the red yet though.

    beautifull work.

Question, on your drops and starburst are you using a full size, a detail gun or a air brush?

    thanks

How many cups of coffee did it take to finish that roof job. Holy shit!!!!!!! That is so rad!!!!!

Please show more pics of how it is all done what gets taped in between all the colors etc and the guns used and paint mixing. I would love to see it all and how it is done. I geek out on the Mechanics behind all the artistry!

    Mind Blowing paint Holmes!!!
