After I talked him outta' sellin' the Merc (it was his call all the way), Mike hooked me up with a stainless boat wheel, whattta' ya' think? I think it's a keeper! Ahoy!

Damn you , I knew that thing would look cool ! I think it works better in your car than it would have in my car anyhow . Please tell me it is only mocked up , you didn't already weld it up did you ?!?!? Badass .

Yes, Mocked Up'd only, though BS'ng you for a day or so is mighty tempting.

My "welding" buddy will be over later, so I'm hoping to get his thoughts on pulling it off.

  8. I like it!! little to big, but is it rubbing against the seat? Still looks damn cool..

Blame that on an optical illusion, since I'm so fat, I had opted for tilt wheel, so it actually swings outta' the way pretty nicely.

Looks pretty hip....reminds me of my completely chromed steering wheel for my pontiac.....

  13. One of the most origional ideas I have seen. Very nice, and it matches the Marine Fire Extinguisher as well!

    That looks bitchin!
I like the naughtycal theme stuff.
Especially on cars close enough to can "Smell" the ocean.

I'm concerned about the way that metal absorbs heat. You could blister your hands on it on a hot August afternoon.
Maybe a traditional style custom steering wheel cover is called for, with an anchor sewn into it maybe? [IMG]

You better Eric and bring the headers if ya' still got em'!

Thanks for all the positive feedback. ALL credit goes to =mike= for the vision, this was of course, originally designed for the "sewer pickle". I'm honored to receive it's hand me downs.

What you don't see(and I should post the detailed pics)is the intricate machine work that Mike and his buddy cooked up that has a wedged pin holding this firm into a tapered shaft. That's the welding he's speaks of. Perhaps a little to weak with manual steering, however my power steering should accomodate it nicely.

Too HOT in the summer, I guess I'll have to figure that one out, but I'll look COOL!

Now I'm thinking... a pirate themed car! YO Ho Ho Ho A Pirates Life For Me! Nah, Johnny Dep would end up wanting to buy it. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

  18. Oh no, not another OCC (Orange County Cars) theme car. How many can one guy take? Parrot on your shoulder and you will be in business. By the way, nice wheel. Nutz
