Lookin' great Ollin! I do have a set of 40 front brakes here, not sure what the condition of the drums is, shipping would probably kill ya, but if you can't find any let me know. I think there's a set of old chrome ones in CA on the classifieds right now too.

I want to run the model T spring on top of the rear end to raise it up a bit. The car will probably not be channeled, and the front bones unsplit,
so it will probably sit kinda high up? Thats fine with me though, my last car was real low...

The frame was already z'ed about 5" when I got it, Im gonna add some gussets to strengthen the corners up. The guy said it help up fine, but might as well do it now while its easy.

Ill probably run 7.00x16's in the rear? and 5.5x16 or 5.00x16" ribbed tires in front?

Anyone got any opinions on that combo/stance? The 32 axle should drop the front about 2" right, then with the smaller tires...?

Yeah thats cool. That shots in the barris customs books right?

Thats pretty much it, but I think the 30 cowl will flow better and I dont think ill run fenders unless it comes with the body I find?

Man with somethings there's jut no getting around the price....unless you sit on your hands for months or years. I'd give that money for a '32 axle and have. Nothing looks better so if that's the one thing you spent some big cash on you're doing well. I cannot stand to add up what I have. I either have it or I don't and if there's still money in the bank and the baby is not hungry then I feel good at the end of the day.

It's going to be killer when you're all done. I can see it in "THE BIRTH OF HOT RODDING" book.

  10. I am really diggin' this build!!!

    thanks for sharing!

  11. I am liking the direction you are heading with this Model A. And after seeing the build up of your T in the past I know you will do it justice. Keep up the good work.

just talked to the guy with the 30-31 slant window cowl.

He was saying that the bead on the body is in a different place then the roadster doors.
    Is this true?
Does anyone know for sure if I can just bolt on roadster doors? Will I have to make a new body bead at the cowl or what all would be involved? Will it look wierd?

Please reply if anyone knows. Im thinking about getting that cowl...

If I get a cowl, that will keep me busy for a while. I can do my steering, dash, firewall, radiator, grill, windshield etc.

Alright, I have another update! One more big piece of the puzzle!

its kinda rought, but its all there. Cowl is nice, doors are ok, quarters need help, but I think they can be saved,,,
wheel wells are f*cked, but those are cheap, I think I can save the back panel and the one above the decklid, well see about the rumble lid, it looks like the bottom got rusted out and someone riveted a piece of sheet metal accross the bottom!

I think I am going to mount (2) oxygen tanks vertically in the trunk area

Anyone have any good threads that show how the subrails are cut for frames that are Z'ed?

    whats up fellas...

Yeah Ive been lagging on posting an update. But I have made some progress.

I started building a gate and got a little side tracked. I should post a build thread on that too! lol

So the frame is almost a roller, gonna have my buddys dad weld the spring hangers that Aj gave me (thanks A.J.!) tomorrow with his 220 welder.

-Ive pieced together a 38 deluxe dash, it will be sweet.
-almost got the subrails and floors together and painted,
-got all my tires mounted and balanced
-bought another frame, a stock model A frame from shuttlebuggy.
-partially boxed it, made the flatty mounts and welded those in, cleaned it up, trimmed the cross member and took off all the extra crap
-scored a stock 28-29 radiator at LARS, plus a 32 tie rod and drag link
-found a BLC marker lens, thanks Galagher! )let me know if you still need that harmonic balancer)
-found some front drums, thanks Nevala!

My camera took a shit, but ill post a lot of pics. Im overdue...

heres the windshield and cowl section I scored from ford barn. It was off of an old 37-38 four door sedan. Im still not sure if Im going to use the top part or just run the frame.. It looks cool either way.

i carefully took off my top rail thing..

so I could see how it would look

    trim.....grind....cut....trim.....cut...

I also cut out the stock model a dash. I think I am going to leave it like a sort of shelf for storage, and just extend the column drop... Ive never seen anyone do that.
