i like it, do you plan on boxing in the frame? thats what i did for the one i had back in the 90s. for the rear end i had heavy duty brackets made from some farm welder guy.. and welded them onto the frame then bolted the rear in.
nice truck.. way better shape than what i started with.

I wouldn't box the frame without a very good reason. It's a truck, they're designed to twist. not like a car that has a one piece body, on a truck the bed and cab move around separately a bit.

I used the KBS Coating system for the frame, very happy with the results.

That looks nice and clean Nick. I wanted to try that KBS after seeing the results on Royalshifter's Victoria. Yours looks to be more of a factory sheen compared to his which is glossier. Does it come in different levels? Also you wouldn't know if it's UV safe would you? I know POR gets real dull when it's exposed to the sun.

I got it off seeing his post also. The rust coat is not UV safe, you have to do a top coat on top, I used the satin black where I think he used the gloss finish. I also used the entire kit. I cleaned up the frame and then used their degreaser, which is crazy strong. Then I put on the next step which is the Rust Blast, that took the surface rust right to steel and it dries with a zinc coating and then painted it with the Rust coat. I did two coats with about 3 hrs in between and then the satin black top coat. I was very pleased, I also ordered their engine paint and high heat paint for the exhaust manifolds. That will be next!

I got a tip from a buddy to use oven cleaner for degreaser...it worked well bro! Just food for thought. I gotta keep up with this thread..I can tell its gonna be a good one! I think I remember when you put up the post when you bought this truck....I'ma ****er for AD's...just make sure what happened in my build thread does not happen to you (snowball effect....I invite you to check it out, it's in my sig line....maybe you can use some of the information in there on your build....I dunno)

That said, there is one tidbit of info in my build thread that will help you possibly nail down your front clip, I had an issue when i replaced all of the wear parts in the front end....we finally sorted it out after trial and error and figured out what my front end was off of there is some subtle changes in the those front ends and I dont remember em, but they are do***ented somewhere in my thread....

All that said (notta bash mind you) take a look at the bottom of your steering column where the steering shaft comes outta the column....something dont look right there, not sure if your missing a bushing/bearing or if it's just a photo-ism....something just dont look right....

Glad to see your truck is getting revitalized....

We had 60* weather all Thanksgiving break so I took time away from the bikes and went to town. The motor should be yanked by the weekend. My buddy is running the brake lines and doing the bushings in the front end. Ill be rolling by spring! I have some **** to fix on the clip, close up the frame and fix the bottom radiator support they made, then paint and re-wire. I am so swamped with bike work it stole a lot of my time but no one is riding now so they can all wait.

I've been all over your thread a bunch of times! Thanks! And you are right, there is a bushing missing in the steering column. The Chevy Dealer here still carries the kit so I am gonna pick one up.

more pictures to come, I am doing some patch repairs on the inner fenderwells and getting them ready for paint. Winter is coming so I need to do what I can indoors now. We will be ripping the control arms off in a week or so and sending it all out for powder coat and then I can pull the motor and start cleaning that up also.

Mopar Jack, I got plenty hahaha

Neat looking engine! the heads are later model than the block, if you pull the valve covers and look for the numbers we can figure out what they're from. The giveaway is the holes in the ends, they started doing that in 1969
