Got the main part of the body all one color tonite. I really owe truckedup28 for all his help workin the details on the bodywork and helpin primer tonite. Goes pretty quick when there are 2 spray guns goin at the same time. Tomorrow nite is fill in all the pin holes and try to get the whole car blocked out and prime it again this weekend.

Touched up all the pin holes in the body work tonite and guide coated the entire car. Tomorrow nite is the start of block sanding the entire thing in order to get the car primered again on Saturday

Looks good how much travel do you get out of the 4 link? I had too much movement forward and back with mine. Have you seen anyone that has tried the 2 link? What was the total drop on the Gambino notch?

looks awesome. I love primer and guide coat.
not as a finish look, but with the understanding that your almost there, blocking to me is a milestone in a build, like hearing the motor run for the first time.

    Great Job,
    MrC.

I can get a lot of travel from the 4 link that is in the car. More than enough for the bag setup that I have in the car. If you were getting to much front and back movement it sounds like your link bars may have been to short. I have seen a few cars on here with the truck arm suspension setups that look really nice. I think the notch gave the frame an extra 6 to 8 inches or so. I have seen plenty of cars on here with taller tires lay frame with this kit. If you have any questions about the kit shoot Gambino a message on here or give him a call. He is great for information.

Thanks for the compliments on the car guys. Jeff helped me again tonite and we got just over half the car blocked out. Found a couple areas that need a little more attention to the bodywork but I think it is on track to be in primer again on Sat

We got the car all blocked out and primered again on Saturday. I have to give big props to my cous Jeff (truckedup28) for all his help. If it wasnt for him this car would not be at the point its at right now

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, it means a lot seeing people interested in my build.

Mr Monster, post 42 has pics of the seat covers. The fit was good. I had stripped the seats down to the bare frame and redid them from the ground up. The first time around the lines did not line up on the front seat but th customer service was great, got them fixed and fixd their patterns too.

The rear window is out of a 51 fleetline. I flipped it upside down so that it would flow with the chop a little better

Thanks Chris. Im lookin for where the spring mounts on the bottom. I assume it hooks to the hook on the hinge but not sure where it goes for the lower mount.

If its like earlier ones, it hooks to a bracket below on the firewall.

there is a hole in the toe board area that the spring goes into and the top rest on the little tab on the hood hindge, search for 53/54 engine bay to see more.

there a real pain to put on, I used a floor jack ( on the lift pad and the front axle of the jack) to stretch the spring out and put large washers in the open coils of the spring then used a pry bar to slide it onto the hood hinge, then when I lowered the hood all the washers fell to the ground, sound like money.
