Got another 5-6 hours of buffing and polishing in today on the car. Man does it shine now. I gotta give props to my cous Jeff again, thanks man for the killer paint job! It really sets this car off.

Thanks Timmy. The car wont be done for the drags, far from it still! Jeff shot some paint on the wheels and engine this weekend for me. They all look awsome. Ill post some pics of it after I get the tires mounted up and the engine parts bolted up.

I just ran across this thread and read every post. What a sweet looking custom. I'm glad to see that you're almost finished. I'm from Rockford and I've got a '51 Styleline Deluxe that I'm just getting started on. I'll be following your progress so I'll know when I should tow mine down to you so you can work on mine too. OK, not really but, I may have to come down and visit to check yours out in person.

They are 205 70 15s I picked up at a swap meet. No money to but a new set of 670-15s right now so these will have to do.

A couple of pics of the dash for 53CHevTrev.

I cut the speaker grill out of the center in a rectangle, then cut the dash in half right down the center to the radio area. under the radio I cut the area around the ash tray out so that I put it back in later after the dash was all narrowed up. I took about 2 inches off each end of the dash and made the rest of the removal up in the center of the dash. Then modified and added the dash extensions onto my garnish mouldings so the dash would flow into the doors. I hope all this makes sence. Sorry for the crappy pics, I do no have many of the dash mods.

Got some things done to the car since the last update. The trunk is almost done, just need to finish up the battery hold down. The gauges and shifter are installed and the dash is almost all buttoned up. This weekend I got the steering all buttoned up and the master cylinder installed and bench bled. Next step is to bleed the brakes this week, get the headlights installed, modify the rear bumper guards, and mark the windshield to get cut.
