Lincoln Tri-Power Air cleaner setup. $6,000.00 (Reserve met) I was looking for a setup like this for some time, but had NO IDEA how much these suckers went for. Just for a freakin air cleaner? I'll stick with an edelbrock setup for now. -Dane
Holy shit is all I can say.....you can have somebody make one for cheaper than that, despite all the work that would have to go into it....6 g's is rediculous....better be one hell of a car that its going on! Greg
I know what you mean!....went to a swap meet Sunday - A guy there had a cross-boss intake you know the one that goes on the 302..... it's aluminum with 3 built-in 2 barrel carbs on it....really rare... Asked him what he wanted for it just for grins.... $2800.00 - incredible!
That is from a 430 Super Marauder engine...! I ran one in my 57 Ranchero with that Tri-carb set-up and large cast finned aluminum aircleaner. I ran a 3 speed trany with an overdrive rearend. This is a very "FUN" set-up but I sold that car 20 years ago because of the lack of parts, I couldn't even find the aircleaner element or other parts for that matter. Somebody stole the aircleaner right after I sold it...! Here's a great shot of a 430 like the one I had! Hope it turns out! http://home.g2a.net/~brechlrl/pages/48fordstreetrodmotorpic.htm Mark
[ QUOTE ] cross-boss intake you know the one that goes on the 302..... it's aluminum with 3 built-in 2 barrel carbs on it [/ QUOTE ] Never seen that one - only cross-boss intakes I'm aware of (that were actually called that) were for Boss 302s & used either single or dual autolite inline 4-bbl carbs (another rarity)! A buddy of mine had a single one back in the mid '80s & wanted $1500 back then!! All that early Mustang shit went through the roof when the muscle car blitz was on in the late 80s-early 90s & ol' Shelby had that big heart attack... ...course he's gonna do it again & build another Cobra w/Ford. See, there is such a thing as a money tree - you & I just can't pick from it!
that guys story is sickening, the guys explains how he has to work the previous owner to unass the part, just so he can flip it on ebay for a healthy profit. thats fine and all, but you don't need to TELL us! that is the kind of rare part, after actually finding one NOS you build a fucking car around the part, don't just flip it for the most you can get. but what do i care, i got no lincolns and i'll never have one of those air filters.
