Android App notifications

So in the android version of the app (I cant speak for how the Iphone app works) there is no way to turn notifications on for just PM's. I do like getting notifications for when someone PM's me but don't really care for my phone blowing up because my subscribed threads got replied to. Is there any way to differentiate the two so I just get PM notifications on the app? Thanks for the help
