Have then crack tested then get back to us. I'd have a set of 39-48 Ford spindles turned to fit if you plan to put this build on the public roads.

The guys running vintage Lotus 7's and 11's don't trust them, and Coventry Climax engines are half the weight of an Olds.

I used a set on my altered in '66 with American spokes. It had a Rat in it. Used the Anglia axle as a jig with 4130 bosses and tubing. didn't break when I ran over that curb. Probably not a good idea for the street. cool for the strip. :D

I aquired a set of Ford spindles that were machined down to Anglia spec.

I do not know anyone that does this but it is possible as I have a pair.

I beleive all the Anglia stuff you bought will not be usable for the street.

P.M. John Evans here on the board. This is right up his ally as far as machine work goes.

Lots of gassers/altereds/dragsters used them. If you're afraid of them on the street (and I might be) how about using Mark Williams/P&S/Strange spindles. The would probably hold up and are the right dimensions. Mark Williams also makes axles that work with the spindles.

  12. I think I'd be much more worried about the MAGNESIUM 5 spokes that are 40+ years old .....

Is there enough material in the centres of the wheels to machine them out to full size Ford bearings?

And where are these gay midgets???

I use Volvo pv spindles on my spindle mounts, bigger than anglia smaller than Ford
and then machined the wheels to fit the volvo bearings.

yeah i may go the machine down a ford set path. the sheer weight of an olds and hydro on such little spindles scares me a little.

oh and sorry guys all out of the gay midgets
