This is another example of why Spike and Zombie rule and show's what it takes to put out a great mag TRK.

never bought that clown magazine. 99% of everything they take a picture of is awful. Luckily the photographers only manage to catch 1/2 or a third of a car in the show coverage...

Lux, just relax. It happened. Its over. He's probably already on the phone with his lawyer because he's being talked about badly on the internet.

He's not worth going after... in fact he isn't worth a damn thing...

It was probably just one of the many wannabes that pretend they are with the mag because they think it makes them a super star. If you really want to find the dudes address you can get it using www.anywho.com, do a reverse lookup and just punch in his phone number as long as it isn't a cell.

Sucks about the car. I was wondering why the shop was so clean the other day!
    See you around 4:30-5...

  5. I could understand wanting to kick his ass 100% but even if the photo shoot was to have taken place the 62 most likely would have still been in the accident. Between your wife being sick and the accident and people taking time off to hang out... it just sounds like a series of crappy events. IMO, I would move on from here and never do business with any of the OSR losers again (you already know that). Luckily no one got hurt or killed.

Can't believe the guy never even called. Even though I was torn between wanting to be involved with one of our cars being in that magazine. I finally figured that Angie would get a kick out of it, regardless what mag. it was. And that I owe you enough favors that I should do it regardless of whether or not I thought it was a good idea.

So I rushed home, washed the '58, hurried over there, and had Shaun drive out of his way to pick me up for my poker game. Now I have to find a way to get over there and pick up the '58. And this guy didn't even have the courtesy to call? That's BS.

Lux, let me know who this guy is. I'm not going to kick his ass or anything of the sort. But I am going to make darn sure he doesn't get any sort of press credentials for any Kontinentals events. I may even follow him around at our shows and warn people about his BS. Plus, we need to make sure that all of the other local Texas clubs know not to work with him.

Fuck "Ol' Skool Rodz" and their credibility seeking purchased title "C K Deluxe".

Screw the profit seeking wagon jumpers and stick with the guy's who have a clue as to what's what and have a true passion traditional styled stuff.

I wouldn't seek him out, he's not worth trouble with the law. Nowadays society has made everyone such pussies that things like this happen constantly. Peoples word just doesn't mean anything! I would maybe use some SONNY BARGER philosophy on him

"TREAT ME GOOD AND I'LL TREAT YOU BETTER!" "TREAT ME BAD AND I'LL TREAT YOU WORSE!" but only if I randomly ran in to him at a show.

Reminds me of the time some weirdo freelancer took naked pictures of me for "Husky Bears" magazine. I HATE that rag but it was a "business decision"- still I never made the final cut. Sounds like he's working for another "scene 'zine" now.

That sucks dude. Fuck that shithole. They're gonna fall deeper into oblivion and before you know it move on to some other fad. As for the bitch in the explorer, I can't begin to understand the frustratrion. I'd see red for months.

EDIT: I just found out which Poncho, and who was driving. I'm glad he's okay, and even more upset about that poor car.

Yeah, but not in print thanks god! I wouldn't necessarily call that one a "bad" experience- unless you were the pony. ;)

Yeah, I don't think that was a rewarding experience for that little guy.

That blows big time...it falls under the category of the best lesson I still can't seem to learn- No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.
They should be doing a feature on your shop, not just using it for their purposes.

I really have never liked that magazine - content, structure and on and on. This post validates my dislike. I'm sorry this happend. Nobody likes to be used. As I've gotten older, I've come to firmly believe that people get what's coming to them. Their karma will get them - eventually.

I can't believe everybody is so shocked by this douchebag move. The magazine sucks, we all know it. Suprise--they have staff that sucks as well. Get on with it, there will be more photoshoots and better things to come in the future. Pour a beer on the curb for the dead Poncho, and be glad the guy driving it is ok.

Screw that OSR guy... You really deserve that press, I was wishing after the photoshoot you'd get your own show, energy drinks, T-shirts and so on...
Your a good dude, if this guy sees you again I bet he'll be running the other way...

Not nearly as bad, but we had a similar problem. OSR approached us (Hunnert Car Pileup) and asked if they could trade us an advertisement in their rag for a sponsorship slot at the Pileup. Seemed fair. We rushed to meet their deadlines and size requirements for the ad and we got them on our website and on the Pileup shirts... only the ad never ran. When I asked them bout it, they said that their article coverage of the show outweighs the sponsorship cost. Maybe, maybe not, but a deal's a deal.

Since we're sort of on the subject, for those of you in the So. Cal. or Vegas area, specifically the Vegas area. Watch out for a photographer named Scott with "Six Eight Studios". He makes promises he can't keep also. He deals mostly just with Pin-ups, but by default will get cars and bikes for the shoots. Some of these shoots are subcontracted as well. Just a word of warning. Won't go into details or hang anyone out to dry, but thought this would be a good time to mention it instead of starting a thread.

Continue with the regularly scheduled venting... :)
