Local mag here stood up a guy (who shut down his shop for the day and invited mates around for a BBQ) TWICE.....needless to say he told them where to go when they asked for a 3rd chance!

I talked with Frank for quite a while tonight and the guy is seriously distraught and apologetic over the whole situation. Frank is a military man and in town for training, and his class ran late last night and could not get away. (Its the military remember!) Things happen and well a lot of things happened and now it looks like Frank is suffering the consequences. He tried to do something for Austin and San Antonio (and the scene)while he was in town and it all backfired on him.

It's a shame that this site has so many people willing to defame one character whilst they don't know the situation so, Ryan please kill this thread and everyone else that wants to chime in on the ol lets bash the guy from ol school rods "Shut the fuck up!"

 

I'm tryin to get in touch with Frank's people. Gonna try to straighten this out.

Frank is Army. He was in a wednesday morning class. apparently, around noon, the class was supposed to be over, when the screw asked the 188 member class if they would rather finish wednesday night, or staurday morning.
187 hands went up for wednesday night. Frank was stuck.

He didn't get much time for a break, so he called when he could (which would right around the time Flint was calling me, and I was calling a wrecker)
meaning-2 lines blocked=busy signal. Meaning He didn't have a chance.

Frank, after talking to you tonight, I hope the powers that be straighten this out.

Lux you had a right to be pissed. If Frank is military and in a class, he should have said so. I used to run long when teaching all the time. There was a distinct possibility that what happened...was going to happen. This incident may have actually been the "last straw". Nobody but Frank and his boss will know that answer.

Many of us are long time veterans. I have gone out of my way to help veterans get employed with my company (who have the basic skill set) and in general assist them in "coming back" to civilian life. Sometimes that means reverting to the "NCO" persona. Most of the time it's an understanding conversation and a warning. I have no idea what the actual history is between you and your employee.

But if you knew this guy had a military commitment and canned him based on the fact Uncle Sam didn't release him on time...you could have handled that better. Regardless of previous history.

Firing this guy is NOT going to get folks to buy more of your magazines.

My dad had a situation like this happen, not with a car, but with one of his tractors and his shop. A guy came from a magazine to do a photo shoot of my dad's deere collection and get pictures of his carbuerator and magneto set-up, he has a test engine he tests them all on and all kinds of cool shit. But the magazine fucked us around and then they fell of the face of the earth. But 2 months after that another magazine came took twice as many pictures, and did a 5 page spread about my dad's shit, and one of his tractors got the cover, plus they sent us 20 extra copies, shirts, and hats.
