This thread made me remember I was in a band pretty much based on Animal House. It was a party band called The Toga Kings, and we played in togas and crowns, oftentimes extremely inebriated.

Played all Sixties frat party rock, and threw in some Sonics covers and a few surf tunes. Great, rowdy, drunken times...

I gotta' check out the Lemay museum. If the Death Mobile, or even a clone, is there. Also, it's so great to see the stuff that comes out of the woodwork here. Just like 37Kid said.

What starts out as an O/T post yields some awesome regional, traditional car-guy trivia!

  5. Your Welcome!! Fun to set down and reflect on the good times we had. Loved it then, still love it today!!
The "OLD TIMERS" of the "KLAN Racing Team" and "The Junction City Quarter Milers" from the area try to get together twice a year in March and in August to do a little bench racing, tell stories about each other and remember the nites of the "MIDNIGHT NATIONALS that were usually a Fri/Sat nite thing. "RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG", keep your mouth shut and lay your money on the hood!! The turnouts get bigger and bigger each year, the kids love the stories that Dad would never tell!! Just a bunch of damn "STREET OUTLAWS" LMAO Some still have the same cars, PAUL!!!

The car for sale might be a clone. The car in the movie was a '62 Lincoln Continental, and the Death Car for sale is a '66 or '67. Gotta watch the movie again and look closer at the car after the conversion to see if they simply used a later model as the Death Car. Would have been a shame to have done that to that '62! Of course, then it was just a 17-year old used car, too!

I went to University of Oregon in the 60's, so all the scenery is very familiar. My frat house was used for the interior shots (after they cleaned it up a bit, we were slobs), and a lot of the stories in that film aren't far from the truth!

Just looked up Dean Wormer's wife.
Played by Verna Bloom, who also played Sarah Belding in High Plains Drifter!

They replaced animal with "What kind of a person desecrates the face of a defenceless text book"

I did see a do***entary where TS came up with that part for their vidieos and were casting and wanted someone like him. Dee said, lets just get him, he's not doing anything...and the rest is history:D

    yep..

In addition to singing the theme song off-screen, Bishop had a cameo role in National Lam****'s Animal House as the aspiring folk singer whose guitar John Belushi smashes. Bishop still keeps the smashed guitar as a memento. He appeared in another John Landis movie, The Blues Brothers, as the 'charming trooper' who breaks his watch during the mall chase.

Haha, great times. Just happened to be spending my 1st quarter at college. I was late getting admitted and on campus housing was
full-up.(Rule being that all freshman HAD to be housed on campus). I ended up getting a room at a frat house and of course pledged...I could write pages on the similarities of my experience but suffice it to say my
63 Belair wagon was commandeered for the trip to the theater when Animal House came out. Somehow all 12 of us fit.I graduated that 1st
quarter with a 0.00 grade average and that was the end of my college days. Our frat prez at that time had been in school for 7 or 8 years and now 30 some years later is a big DJ in Columbus. He always made the best brownies... And I've often wondered what became of my one-eyed sorority sister friend.Wouldn't have missed it for the world!
