We're getting a lot of good feedback from racers--among others, we've heard from the Southern Slingshots and Geezer Gassers... Don't know how many cars from these groups are coming, but these are exactly kinds of car and groups I envisioned. I couldn't be happier!

The Sock Fockers hooked me up with a 354 Hemi piston and rod. This will help make a good trophy.

Someone needs to come up with a "Most likely to be towed from the field" trophy

 

I have plenty of pistons and rod from the pro mod car but they might look to modern it is a hemi just a modern one. Let me know if you think they will work I have several some have been blowed up even cooler.

Final version of the race classes are as follows:
Gasser (sponsored by Lamar Walden Automotive Racing Engines)
FED (will include Altered and Comp Coupes)
Hot Rod
Muscle Car (will include Nostalgia Super Stocks)

Race Format:
Qualifying in the morning. Quick 8 in EACH CLASS will run Heads-up Eliminations for $1,000 purse money.
EVERY ELSE in-class will be paired with the car closest to their ET, to run a Heads-up best 2-out-of-3 Shootout through Eliminations, for bragging rights.
Everyone makes heads-up passes all day against cars in the same class, nobody gets their doors blown off, everyone has fun, and the "slow" guys are just as important as the "fast" guys.

We had 200 vendors at the swap meet last month, WITH the Charlotte Auto Fair the same weekend... we're anticipating 200-250 vendors for The Gear Jam.

I know you said vendors could come in late. Does that apply to car show people also? Might bring my unfinished project so it will have to be trailered and rolled off into a spot. It's about 3 hrs each way with losing an hr headed that way. Doubt I can make it before 10 and would likely have to leave around 6 but would like to see as much racing as possible. Would like to bring the project but want to see the racing more so either is fine by me.

 

Nice Trophy - All American. We are banding together this weekend to make one. Looking forward to the event. Should be a great time.

 

That's not a problem at all--show up any time you want!

We'll have EARLY set-up on Friday from 12-5pm for people on the Manufacturer's Midway.
For swap meet vendors and racers, gates open at 6am, show car and spectator entry starts at 8:30, first call for racers is 9am.

Camping is available for $15 per car. (sorry--no camp fires)
