  3. I don't care what the blind weatherman says. It's beautiful here in Lawrence. Leaving in an hour or so, watch out hoodlum meeting to commence shortly!

If anyone is in Salina with nothing to do tonight I'm going to the Paramount bar on Santa Fe for a band. I'll be the fat guy with a goatee and a red Austin Speed Shop hat on.

  9. Hey, it is now today! The day of the event. Just got done building two bowls of potatoe salad. It tastes yummy! It's in the fridge letting the flavors blend till the eating part of this event. Can not wait till morning. Going to build the B,bque beans. Then head on out to Brown's Park to meet up with all the jalopies and fellow Hambers.

Just got home. We had a great time. I found a little info about the Great Denmark Bank Robbery that the Hambers that were on the tour might enjoy. Will post it later. All I have to say at this point is what Jay might lack in map making ability, he certainly makes up for with his talant for staying on schedule!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

Being the complete freeloader that I was, I would like to give a big thank you to everyone that contributed to make it happen. Especially you Jay - I am working on an all glass mausoleum in your honor.

For those that missed this, it wouldn't be the HAMB-B-Q without Robins traditional roadside talk with a cop, at least this time if was a minor mechanical phantom and not the handcuff kind..

I swear.. Next year before we leave for the drive, I'm going to put a govenor on Jay's car to slow him down... This year...lead car 40 miles in front of the trailing car:eek: Well at least a couple of miles ahead.

Another good turn out, and another year of good cruzing to new places via the back roads of Kansas.

Is there any time down there that it's not windy?????? Headwind going, head wind coming back.

P.S. I left this morning because the chickens were crowing and woke me up, and I needed my morning cup of brew to get me going, but just kept on going north from there.

Thanks Jay for another year of a good BBQ and cruise. Even I enjoyed watching Avatar on the barn....Well as much of it as I could stay awake for.

I woke up several times during the night, and one time I saw it was 4:00 and I saw Jay over still tending to the smoker..What a man!!!!!

Tried posting a long artical about the Denmark bank robbery out of a book I have. It got lost in the shuffle somehow, so here's the short verson:August 10, 1932 2 guys do a daylight robbery, get away in their car, go into Lincoln, rob the bank there, get caught just south of Lincoln and admit to robbing the bank at Glen Elder also. Wonder what they were driving?

Me and the wife just got home a while ago. It was the wifes first time and she had a really good time. Rained on us going out on Friday, last night and coming home today but didnt dampen the fun at all. Thanks again Jay and Angie for opening thier home to us hoodlums once again. Sorry I missed the cruise but I had to fullfill a promise to the wife on Saturday, that I promised to do on Friday. (antiqueing) Engine Pro the sausage was great.

  28. Had a blast, Thanks Jay, Angie, and everyone that came!!! Good times with old friends and new ones too! :)

As always a great cruise ending in excellent BBQ in the park. Good friends, good food, and lots of hot rod talk make for another successful picnic.

Thanks Jay for coordinating this every year.
