Event Coverage Annual spring garage cleaning day

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Moriarity, May 10, 2024.

  1. Just curious, hypothetical situation: if your all time favorite custom came up for sale at a price you could afford, but you had to let one of the collection go to make room and free up capital, which one would it be?

  2. Oh to be your neighbor! I only wish! Great collection ….

haha yup, the title the frame (shortened 14 inches) the cowl and the doors. the rest is fabricated from parts of other cars. Denny built this car when he was in his 70's

One good thing about a dirty garage is when you move an item to use. It's easy to find where it belongs by the impression on the dirty floor.

how big of a fight was it with the city to get a permit to build that garage next door to your house ?

It was no fight. It met all the building code requirements. I couldn't have a larger footprint than the house and it could not be taller than the house

    None of them...
He could call me, and I could have an enclosed trailer pick his choice and bring it to me and I would take really, really good care of it for as long as he wants. As far as capital...
    oh crap.

Meanwhile, I have like one good car battery and a bunch of shit that doesn't run anyway. I can't imagine how long this would take me to do.

  16. We have shared custody of the orange ‘56 so I could house it so he doesn’t have to make that decision. :)

never allow us around here to build just a garage on a lot like that , lucky you have flexibility with building codes

city lots are 40 feet wide here. this property was 3 lots wide when I bought it in 1980. In the late 80's I got a notice from the county that the corner unbuildable (35 ft wide) lot was available to me for 500 bucks. I bought it and had it combined with the rest as one property. So it isn't like I built a garage on a separate lot....

even the little towns around here won't allow it , it would need to be attached .. I think it's a property tax thing
I tried to buy a scruffy house on a huge lot and was going to build a "Shouse" and once it was done push ol house down, couldn't get a building permit .. he said " house 1st, then we will talk about garage"

you have nice setup for people wanting lots of room for garage , I'm envious
