Looking on ebay i saw this mess of a merc. i think it has to be the worst section job i have ever seen and there is nothing good to say about the rest of the car except the shape of the 1/4 windows is good http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6882&item=2490173921&rd=1
if it was cheaper, it could be bought and fixed, but theres no way I'd pay what it looks like it's going up to just to have to fix all that ********...
I'm don;t consider myself an expert on mid-century Mercs, but to me it looks like they just cut a bunch off the bottom od the car??
Bleecth...WTF!! Just goes to show that taste is all in the mouth. And by the way, if that where my car...I'd off just as fast as I could too...and kill whoever did that.
If I paid 10k for that "chop" and "channel", I would havehad to kicked somebody's ***! Hell, for that much you better have slanted B-pillars
it should have been senctiond 2 over the trim line and 2 under it to make it porpotions better or something ahh hummm
WTF!!!! Why the hell would they section a mid century Merc!! That ****er must of been hittin' the crack pipe. It does look like a jag. It could be fixed if put in the right hands. The genius that did the work need to have the **** beat outta him for mutilating such a beautiful car. What a waste!!
I agree with Duck. It probably had terminal cancer in the lower panels and a quick and dirty section job was the only way to treat it on the cheap. I hope he didn't actually pay someone $10,000 to do that work although I've run into so called body men who want to get paid up front and you get your baby back two or three years later looking like this Merc. Poor, poor and piss poor. pigpen Disgusting, even for the warped sense of humor of the pigpen
Kinda reminds me of a Hudson in some of the rear shots. Thats almost criminal, too bad whoever did it can't be prosecuted. Frank
I've seen some Hudsons they tried to make look like Mercs, but why would you try to make a Merc look like a Hudson.
.............CHRIST! You guys are so hung up on "tradition" that you all lack "vision!" I'm seriously thinking about bidding on that ****er, slapping some sort of motovation in it and running the ****in' wheels off of it. I will be a God! I will be the new visionary. I will be the trendsetter that started the newest craze. Discovery Channel will beat my door down and I will become rich beyond my wildest dreams! I will be "SKATEFINK".......founder of the RAT KUSTOM (TM)movement!
"This Mercury has been chopped 4 inches and sectioned 4 inches" And *******ized beyond recognition. "(not channeled)" Thank the gods because who knows how bad these 'pros' would have screwed that up. "this is over $10,000 worth of work done." Trust them on this. I'm their yard man and I do a full mow, edge, and weedeat for them at only $6,200 a week. But that's front AND back. "The car is from Arizona and has no cancer, minor surface rust only. No dents." Because we cut the bottom off and filled the dents with 63.5 lbs of bondo. "Many parts of the chopping have only been roughed out" And I mean ROUGH! ba-dump-bump! Thank you, I'll be here all week.

Hell, for that much you better have slanted B-pillars [/ QUOTE ] id have to kick my OWN ***. im not a merc expert, but maybe if you did something up slammed lowrider hydrolic stlye to get it sitting lower to the ground it wouldnt look as bad as we see it... but i dont see that happeneing......
yeah but I learned alot from the marker lines on the bondo. They are like an artist's brush strokes. You can really see how they were thinking it through and "sculpting" it in their head...
I was thinking the same thing dragger...they turned a merc into a Hudson. I don't dislike Hudsons persay, but I can't believe how many times people have thought my merc was one....argghhh.
