    Pie cut the original ones , they're more work than anyone would like but I've done it everytime I've ever had to put then back in

  2. Do you cut the inner part or the the outside. I tried the outside on one and as I opened up the pies to shape it, it started to krinkle the metal

    Put some gibbs on your bare metal. That'll help you out. My whole car is bare metal, and lives outside too.
    Here is a tip for you, whenever you can when putting in a sheetmetal patch, avoid sharp corners like triangles, and even on square patches, you should radius the corners. When you weld them in, the heat will "collect" in those corners and make your warpage worse.
