Not yet. Only been out of the shop a couple times. Seems to run and drive fine. Just entering the final building stage.
It is on a 1989 1 ton dually chassis, has a 1984 Corvette 350/turbo 400 mounted back under the seat , and I am waiting for the sheet metal shop to bend up my bed sides. I have a set of pick up rear fenders which I will modify to fit/cover the dual rear wheels. Paint the bed and fenders to match the cab and it's done.

  2. Right on, that should get the job done and get almost as much attention as the 55. You just need a glass sided enclosed trailer like Ivo and that would be the cat's ass !

Baron, great build, I'm doing a 55 gasser also w/454 and tb400.9inch. Have loved following you build and want to thank you for all the post you have made and taking the time to answering all the questions sometimes several times over. You are a very talented builder and also very focused on finishing a project. Good luck with the 55 and have lots of fun with her. Again thanks for all the info and tips. Later YRUHOT

Thank you. Glad you were able to get some information that would help with your 55. If it looks anywhere as nice as your 56 Chevy, you'll certainly have one very nice gasser. Look forward to seeing pictures of yours as it progresses. Good luck with your build.

Hey Phil. These were taken at the Orange Dragway reunion yesterday. 330 feet, flag man start, no times, no nothing. One wins, the other goes home. Just a nice ,fun filled day. Car ran great all day. You'll like this video.

Thanks Butch. Someone at the event posted it here on the HAMB. Here is a link to the thread. One of the best events I have ever attended.

Was fun reading all the way through it again, I'd forgotten about this build.
It was an inspiration for me when I started mine in 2011....

Thanks guys. It has been a great car. Taken a lot of abuse and has been almost 100 % trouble free (knock on wood). Hard to believe I started this thread over 8 years ago !

still loving this car. worked in the garage this morning on the 66 and soaked a bunch of frozen brake fittings in Kroil and read this thread. This evening we will take the 61 wagon to a cruise in and come home tonight and work on the Vette some more. You have inspired me today Baron :)

Thanks Enloe. We all need a little inspiration sometimes, and this sure is the place to get it. No lack of talent or ingenuity from many of the members here on the HAMB.
Just got in the door myself from working on my Corvette all day. Getting a little closer everyday. Hope you have a good and productive week-end on your 66.

First time out with the 55 Chevy today since last November. Hard to believe I started this project back in 2007. Almost 12 years old and it's been one of the most trouble-free cars ( and engine) I have ever owned. All good.

    Still a very cool car
We went to the first local cruise in where we live yesterday. This was the time my car had went to town since 85.

Some kids asked if they could have their prom pictures made in it.

17 years ago I started this build thread. Still my favorite car and still runs great. This picture was taken a few weeks ago at the Northeast Vintage Drags in Oxford Plains Dragway. Thanks to Danny Bing Photography for this great shot. 448831349_122116831778328331_417961534998878633_n.jpg
