Ya know...I guess "never say never", cuz someone on here is going to prove you wrong...It was my understanding that no car manufacturer made cars after 1941...but I know for a fact there were '42 Chevys...so it's possible Mopar made '45's...Cadillac made tanks (or at least supplied the engines)...which I guess would fit with their corporate "thinking" at the time since they made big cars... Sonny, after further inspection, I agree, it is a '56...and for Ratfins56, the '56's rear bumper came up to the bottom of the trunk -'54's and 55's had the license plate indent under the trunk...that Caddy does not...and with the holes in the rear quarter, I would concur it is a '56. I saw a '56 in the junkyard recently that had the 'spear' portion on it and it was cast metal, not part of the body. Either way, it is a shame to see a car, even a four door, in that kind of shape getting crushed...there's still some usable stuff on it. However, it just makes the ones that remain on the street worth that much more. Hubnut...thanx for the compliment. R-

Well I must say from the other side that I s****ped 2 mercs this year, I had them on here for sale had them liisted on CL for about 6 months, finally gave up and hauled them to the crusher, both were complete 4 doors, one 49 one 50, but they had to go, I was asking 500 apiece to the last day, never had anyone seem to care, everyone said dont do it, but no one steped up to the plate. So when I finally had all I could take I cleaned my yard up, and away they went, one brought 490 or something close and the other was like 510 so got pretty much exactly what I thought they were worth, now s**** is down now but if it comes back up.....I will likely be taking a couple more cars I have....just the facts of life...Jim
