Longtime lurker. My girl and I went to the Round Up last weekend (and last year) and finally decided to pull the trigger on an old car. Today we drove home a 54 Chevy 210, 4 door. Car is in nice shape and ready for paint. Today was the first time I've driven "3 on the tree" and was worried something would break on the 80 mile trip - but all went well thankfully. Anyhow, looking forward to local meets, learning, and contributing where I can.
Welcome from San Jose. Congrats on the purchase, what are the plans for it? Also need to see some pics.
Thanks guys. Just your typical 4 door, I've been reading every old thread I can find. I'm told the brakes have been rebuilt, and the engine gone through. I'd like to lower it, re-chrome the bumpers, and fix the interior. The interior was done but kinda sloppy, can't believe those kits cost $1500. The underside is really clean and the car had minimal rust, overall I'm happy. I know everyone and their mother has souped up this car, but I still want to try something different. Any suggestions? From what I can tell, even nice examples aren't selling over 15k.
Narly car dude (my lame attempt at the Spicoli impression)... Seriously I love the '54 you got...don't you just hate the non-sycro 3 speed in town driving. Add a visor, lower and let her represent your personality.
