A friend at work is trying to install a 1966 chevy 250ci with side motor mounts, into his 51 chevy styleline with the stock frame and front suspension. Has anyone done this and what mounts did you use. the motor still has the 1966 truck motor mounts on the block.... thanks

I've never done it....but the brackets that connect the mounts to the engine make the mounting points just like a Chevy V8, so you could use a mount setup designed for a V8. Things to watch out for are clearance up front at the radiator, the transmission mount (you probably need the engine back further than you would put a V8), and oil pan clearance.

Tom Langdon at The Stovebolt Engine Co., in Utica, Mich., would have the proper engine mounts for your friend's conversion. He also has lots of cool aluminum parts for the 250", plus headers, cams, and other stuff.

Look for his ad banner over at Inliners.com
