Another Chrysler followed me home, low buck project

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by desertratrodder, Jun 24, 2004.

  1. It followed me home on my trailer...a 26 Chrysler 2dr, complete, damn near rust free. All said and done 300 bucks. All the wood got eaten by termites long ago, so thats why it looks like its falling apart.
Not sure of the master plan just yet. I wanted to show some of the naysayers that you dont have to blow somebody to get a good deal...
Any photoshop or suggestions welcome... [IMG]

If you decide not to play with that thing, sell it to me!

  5. This**** would take it off your hands too.. Just give me $300 and I'll tow it away for ya.. [IMG]****ooooooh said the Chinaman

  6. I saw the box on the back and I said to myself.."cool icechest" That'll fit at least 50 beers!
It'll help out at El Mirage next time!

  7. Marcus, you'd need one more wheel...the termites got that too...
That would be an excuse no one's boss ever heard before..at least not after the 40's...
"I can't make it in today"
    "WHY??"
"The termites ate the spokes outta my wheel!"

  12. I have no idea on early U.S. liscence plates or what they
represent but that looks like a real old one from maybe
a first series. If so does this mean the car was put away
early on and that the mechanicals have had little use.

  13. The license plate is 1938, the guy I bought the car from said it runs, he took off the carb to rebuild it. It needs a master cylinder too. I still have to get the lights that he restored and some spares from him.
Chances are, alot of this car will be sold off to restorers.
Jim, I watered that cactus that filled you full of spines, it was so heavy that it fell over...

Not that I am a restorer, but is the front axle an I beam or tube? I am looking for a old Dodge tube axle, but I don't know when they started using them.

    Thanks,

    Neal

  15. Neal,

This one is a tube front axle.

Would you mind taking a pic for me? Is this one that was a dip in the middle?

I might be interested in it if you part the car out.

I pulled this from his album... JetFuel's pic's

Are you going to sell it all for parts? Or just what you'r not going to use?

  18. Yeah, I like Jet's car. I am going to sell off the stuff I dont use..stock drivetrain, fenders, misc stuff.
I'm trying to decide if I'm going to make an open car out of it or enclose the top...
