Used an oversized Tanks tank on my current sedan project and although I have a set of the reinforcement triangles (and fit them), there’s really no way to disguise the ‘full diaper’ oversized tank so decided not to use them. Kinda regretted that decision as soon as the paint was on as so much of the tank is now so visible on a highboy sedan. :(
In my defense, car was originally going to be a full fender car.
Long story short….if you have the reinforcement triangles….use them.

I'm feeling like I've turned over 2 pages at once! The full fendered black 5w with the great stance, has gone?

I’ve got a question, is that rail with the deck lid bumpers a stock item? My Avatar was originally a rumble seat car now a trunk car. I never noticed that on other 32’s. IMG_6362.jpeg

  13. You did the same rumble-to-trunk kid treatment on the 5-window body I bought from you. Nice work and it’s always good to keep busy …..

  17. Working on several things at the same time. Finished off brake lines. Just waiting for tank to be painted.
Started on front end damper. This car did not seem to need one , but I think the steering will feel a bit firmer. Anyway, I always use one. Working on my signature mounting bracket. IMG_5522.jpeg IMG_5523.jpeg IMG_5524.jpeg

  21. When you buy a car sight unseen you usually get some things that are expected and some things that make no sense. This car is no exception.
Nice body on car and then the inside of the doors were a mess. So, I completely redo them.
The frame all finished and painted nice , yet the bump stops on frame over rear axle we’re just hammered flat and painted over. I cut the rivets clean and paint area and install new ones.
I’m not complaining, I just don’t understand some building practices.
    Back to my upgrades etc..
Besides bump stops this week I finished steering damper, and started battery holder.
The battery mount on this car was another not so nice job. With the cut off switch having to be cut into pieces in order to remove it. Must have been installed prior to installing body on frame. IMG_5510.jpeg IMG_5532.jpeg IMG_5535.jpeg IMG_5537.jpeg IMG_5538.jpeg

Will the bump stops smash the brake lines? Looks like the car found the right guy to clean it up.

At the rate you're going at this, unless the to do list is particularly long, you'll be well finished before winter has had a chance to get going!

  27. We shall see. That rollover check valve needs to be higher than the tank. That is as high a spot as I have unless I put it in the trunk
    That ain’t happening.

  28. Super Bell. Same one in my roadster. Both early ones. When they were good.
