Hot Rods Another Deuce Five Window Gets my Attention

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ct1932ford, Nov 1, 2023.

  1. Brady, I get the sockets from NAPA. See photo. I tweet the tabs in a little and enlarge the hole in the bucket. Put socket in from inside and then bend over tabs.
The bulbs fit inside the housing unlike an 1157.
I they are in the photo also. I think the name is on the label where I bought them. You have the number also.
Let me know if you need anything else. Mark IMG_5850.jpeg

I made a copy of your hood hold downs.

  7. Looks good! I do shape mine a bit and also angle the holes to follow the hood side panel .

  8. Not much to report. Car is all set to go, but the transmission is definitely toast. Drove the car the other day and everything is great with the exception of the trams. Let the clutch out and it gets very noisy. I was told tranny was bad when I got the car, so no surprises.
I may drive it around a bit and then it will come apart for a trans rebuild and paint.

Save it for your next five-window. You know you’ll have another.

You know Mark that dark green on the car looks great and if you just paint the trunk lid and hood to match, then combined with the black wheels and running gear it will give the car a different vibe.
Oh, and it will save Ted a lot of work too LOL

You've had so many BLACK 32-5W's I've lost count and if you leave this one green then folks will know that you've got a new car.

  22. Pulled the motor and transmission out yesterday. I was told the transmission was bad and it does need rebuilding. I was also told it was a 39, but it’s a 36 with double detent top.
Brought it up to Go Devil Garage ( Al Clark) today for rebuilding. IMG_5988.jpeg IMG_5989.jpeg

Don't know why, but the above photo made me look up the weight of a Flathead and a 354 Hemi. Hemi is 100 pounds lighter

Engine looks great but the photo reminds me of the story about the flathead overheating story. The mouse proofing wasn't removed and the water never circulated properly. :(
