I have a disc brake setup on my model A its a 1974 Maverick disc brake master cylinder with a GM style disc brake kit at the wheels, I also have a 2lb wilwood res. valve for the front 10lb for rear along with a prop valve for the rear. The rears work fine but the front won't let go can't turn the wheels by hand. If I crack the bleeders the let go start using the brake they bid up again. I have looked through the old posts for the disc brakes not releasing just wonder if I really need the wildwood valve if that may be the problem. Any thoughts?

It's possible that master had a built in residual valve for the discs.
Could be clapped out front rubber hoses creating a" check valve" situation.
One more thing to check is if you have some free play between the pedals push rod and the master. If that is tight,
loosen the rod until you have some free play. Do you have a return spring on the pedal?

Had the same problem with my front 2lb valve on the front disks. I removed the parts inside of it and put it back on problem solved . Great pedal too.

Shot in the dark!! Valve has direction. Pete

  7. Crack the line before the flex hose and see if they release. Continue cracking lines loose up to the master. Where they don't release, you've found your problem. Could be the valve or hose.

What about a brake line that's too close to a header or tail pipe, causing the brake fluid to get hot and expand? Also, check the push rod for proper length. It shouldn't be too tight.

What recent changes have been made that could've caused this?

The exhaust does run right near the mc i will check and see if it does it while the car is cold. I did check the direction of the valves they are correct.

  10. Thats where my money is on this one.
The valves and hoses are self explanatory. The spring and pushrod - if the cup doesn't return past the fluid intake and return port you'll have a problem
